Hello! New 929 Rider
Hi,
I picked up a Erion CBR929RR this past June, and have been loving it ever since. I've been lurking here for awhile. Here it is... (my friends F4i is also in the picture). As you can see I'm currently working on it. So it doesn't look like it used to.
Which brings me to my next subject. I removed the engine, and want to work on replacing the lower case. I was wondering if anyone has any expertise on doing this, specifically on the 929? It seems simple enough, but I'm no engine mechanic (would love to learn). I just want to make sure there isn't anything critical I'm missing. Any help would be most appreciated!

Welcome to the Forum. Splitting the case and replacing would not be for
the faint hearted at any rate, but if you systematically record the break
down method and equip yourself with a good factory manual for torque and
timing spec's etc. when you got to reassemble it I'm sure you'd get it done
- well eventually that is (since you said you are No mechanic - implying new
to motorcycle mechanicals ).
What's wrong with the lower case anyhow ?

I need to resize my pictures. I'll get em up asap, its not much to look at right now anyway.
Anyways, previous owner cracked the crankcase from a low side. Motorcycle mechanics are definitely 'new' to me, at least as in the depth I am currently in. It is all so interesting to me, and I've learned a lot already. It's great!
For now though, I took my motor to MFI in Virginia. I didn't feel too comfortable going any further, so they said they could get a welder, or use the spare crankcase I supplied. Whichever method works is okay to me... as long as it stops leaking.
