Default Hello and My Bike

Hello All!

Thanks for having me on the forum. My name is Nicholas. I'm originally from way up north in Canada, in the Yukon, but recently moved to the lower mainland of british columbia, near Vancouver. I bought a bike this summer that was modified for track racing, and felt like a fun hobby project would be revamping it so that it can get back out on the road. I think something cool about my bike is that I'm redoing it all using the race fairings, so it's going to have a pretty sleek look to it. So far, my main priorities are:

-Install HID' headlights that I bought (not complete)
-Finish painting and installing fairings with 99k Dupont jet black paint (not complete)
-Install integrated turn signal lights (not complete)
-Install mirrors with signal lights (half complete)
-Install kickstand (complete)

In the long term:
-New ignition and key (it's just a switch start right now)
-Install the passenger seat... the metal bar was chopped off, so I'll have to weld it back on and buy a seat

I know a lot of it doesn't look complete, but I'm actually almost done all those tasks. All the parts and tools I have, and the bike has all the wires exposed. I've actually properlly wired the headlights and mirrors, I just need to wait for my new front fairing to come in to finish installing. Just the tail light seems to be the problem ATM.

Thanks guys! I was going to put a couple of pictures up, but it would appear that I need to put them on the web first... I'll get on that!

Hi Nicholas and welcome to the forum.

What kind of bike is it?
Hopefully you did your homework on the title before you bought it. Sometimes "track only" bikes have title/registration issues in the street world.

Oooh, good thought 74 demon... It's an 01' 600, I can't believe I forgot to mention that Yeah, that's a good thought. I don't think that'll be a problem, at least I hope not. We'll tackle that one when we get there... Nice bike by the way! Cool to see that you got CBR of the month!

Thanks Demon,

Nope! Did no homework before hand, didn't really know, but I'm not too concerned. I think I should be able to sort it all out if it goes wrong...

Welcome to CBRF! Homework is for school! You have the bike - make it work! I dig your style. As far as the switch - just hide another switch and it'll be good for now. I hope you get it road worthy quick. It shouldn't be too hard. I look forward to seein' pictures

Hi guys! SO! I actually got all of my lights working! Mirrors with signals, headlights, integrated tail lights and all. Next on my list:

-Rear brake sensor (might be able to go without... haven't decided yet)
-Finish up the aesthetics and mount everything.

Here's the photo bucket!

(let me know if it doesn't work)

It's nice meeting all of you guys, and I look forward to checking out all your projects as well.
