Default Hello from Mass

Hi,
I'm Rob Traina. I'm from central mass. I'm relatively new to street bikes, but have been riding other bikes for some while. I just bought a used 2001 f4i last summer. Here is a pic of my high millage POS

I bought it for relatively cheap and got a jacket and helmet along with it. I've been trying to remove the stickers for sometime. Over the winter I went through most of the up keep, oil, plugs etc. It could still use a new chain and sprockets tho.
If anyone has any preferred parts vendors to buy the parts from let me know.

Thanks,
Rob T

It's prettier than my beastie. There are few good sites around Bikebandit comes to mind.
Motorcycle Superstore, MrCyles, Premier Cycle Accessories and J&P Cycles are in my book-marks, as well.

Anything to do with bearings...AllBalls Racing is the one to go to.

If you've got an eye and know what you're looking at e-bay and craiglist are a good
resource.

Don't forget your local dealer. I get pretty much a 10% discount on anything
I buy, because I got to know them. Started showing them some of my pricing research
on the net and let them have a chance to match. Sometimes they can, sometimes not.

But they appreciated that I try to keep my dollars local. I like the idea of running
down at 4:55 on a Saturday, and getting that doomafloggie I have to have or no joy
on that Saturday night ride, I was planning. Even over-nighted can't give you that kind
of service. ;-)

Welcome, Ern

Welcome aboard Rob!

Don't like the stickers? ;-) From your pic, it looks like its in pretty good shape. I like the split-seat version myself as well.

Make yourself at home in the F4i section. There's good vendor feedback for your model in that sub forum, as well as other places here.

Hi Rob and welcome! Lots of great bikes and bike people here that would like to help you with what we can, as well as tune in to the stuff you have planned for your bike. She's pretty btw. Browse the F4i and for sale threads often and you might get some good parts for way cheap.

Thank you everyone, for the warm welcome and sound advice.
When it comes to stickers I don't mind lettering but Michelin man on the front of the bike is driving me nuts! ( above the front wheel, on both sides.)

That bike looks really cool! I'm not really a sticker guy either, but they make the bike look pretty sweet! Have fun with the bike!

Welcome to the Forum Rob, stickers are a pain, warm 'em with a hair dryer and peel
slow then use WD 40 to take off any remaining adhesive
