Default Hello everyone.

My name is Jamie Murray. I am 17 years old. I currently a senior in highschool. I currently drive a black S2000. But I'm wanting to get a cbr600 as my first bike.

I plan on learning from my family how to ride, going to a driving school, and taking it slow the first couple months. I've only ridden my aunts old 250 ninja a couple of times. But I'm a fast learner so we'll see how it go's.

I don't know if this is the place to post this question or not but here go's.

Does anyone have an recomendations on what year cbr to buy?
Also, what is a good price to pay for a used one?

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

If your bying your first bike make sure that you can handle the weight of it. There isnt really any certain years to look at, it's more personal preference. Like style, size, cc's, one thing to think about is...Older bikes weigh more than new ones, so if you dont want a heavy bike dont get an older one.Another thing is fit and comfort, if it's not comfortable you wont like riding it, if it's to wide you'll have a harder time touching the ground depending on your hieght. To make this short, go look around and sit on diffrent kinds and see how they feel then go from there! For a first bike I would'nt go any bigger than a 600 or any smaller than a 250 and as for the price it all depend's on the condition of the bike and how many km or miles are on it! Make sure the bike you buy was well maintained, you dont want someone else's garbage! It's not worth what could happen to you if it falls apart under you! Be carefull when buying a bike too, some guy's like to clean up their junkers and sell them as good bike's. Check for leaks, check the brakes, tires, chain, frame, and make sure to have a lean check done on it before you buy. Or better yet let a shop do that for you, untill you learn your bike. Hope this helps, if you have more Q's hit me up. L8R $CRASH$

Maybe she'll let you ride her bike for a thousand or so miles, then step up to a 600cc sportbike, you know wax her car mow her lawn or something. Some of the typical noob mistakes we all make are easier to handle on a smaller bike and may not result in a drop/crash thing. But if you intend on going straight to a RR or F4i then my advice is don't, too many people crash (although most don't)and get hurt trying to learn on a newer 600.

Look through these links before you get a newer sportbike before learning the basics.

mmm...s2k..very nice ride, and a turbo one would give you your need for speed, and a little more saftey maybe..but nothing like the feeling of riding the bike..up to you tho.
