Default Hello everyone

Ilive in Killeen, TX, 22 yrs old. Joined the site since I like most CBR models and I'm seriously considering a 98-99 900RR as a first bike. I've read its not a bike recommended for newbies but I just love the bike too much and I'm willing to do the neighborhood riding thing for a while untill I get the hang of it. I have acausin that started with this bike and told me its not that hard to get used to after some neighborhood riding. Of course I plan on getting full gear and enrolling a motorcycle safety course before I get the bike. I hope to meet new people and learning more about this bike and other models like the 929 and 954 which are my favorites.

welcome to the forum...that IS a lotta bike for a beginner, people who have been riding a 600 fora year or two shouldnt even think about upgrading yet, and you're thinking about starting on one??? good luck with any decision you make...hope you go witha 600 though...

Welcome to the site and welcome to the way of life we all love so much. You'll get this from a ton of people, so I won't flog the donkey too bad here, but taking the riding course is great, thats alot of bike to wrap your body around with such little experience and it'll probably get you into trouble (my opinion there). Get your gear and stay safe! Again, Welcome!

Thanx for the advice. I kinda like the F4 but the problem I have with 600's is that they look a bit narrow to me and I'm kinda big (5'5" 275lbs).

Welcome to the site. Be safe whichever ride you inevitably purchase. I personally agree with Catamayo on starting with a 600 or smaller.

I'll take it in consideration. Once I finish my riding course I'll have a better idea of what bike I'm gonna get. Thanks everyone.
