Hello CBR Forum!
Hey guys, just wanted to stop in to introduce myself. I'm 21 and just bought my second bike off of Craigslist. It's a 1993 CBR 600 F2. I'm pretty sure I got it for a steal but haven't really had time to break it down and look at everything up close and see what I'm working with. I'm just very excited to finally own a CBR as my last bike just wasn't cutting it. I feel like with a little work and some help from you all I have a pretty good project on my hands, one that I will not only have fun with the actual "restoration" but also riding it once I have it all fixed up.
Thanks in advance for all the help I'm surely going to need! I have quite a bit of mechanical knowledge (my major is Biomedical Engineering so I've logged quite a few shop hours) but nothing specifically with motorcycles so that's where I'll be perusing the forums and asking for help as I need it.

Welcome to CBRF! I love it when guys buy a bike that needs some work. You'll learn so much about your bike going through everything yourself. You said "restoration", so what exactly are your plans for it? I'd say $500 or under is a great deal as long as the motor doesn't need much. You've go some extra stuff there too. I'd love to find a deal like that!
I look forward to seeing your F2 come together.

Welcome! I'm also an engineering student (Mechanical). These bikes are cake to work on, only thing I never got a hang of was tuning carbs, but thats why I have an f4i now lol. Nice to have you to the site.
The motor sounds just great so I don't think it is going to need much work. I'm a big fan of original equipment and original aesthetics. I feel like the way it came off the line from the factory is the way it was meant to be. So I want to get the bike back to as close to that point as possible. I'm going to start working on the mechanical systems first and get it all running like a charm first and then work on the aesthetics.
