Hello All
Welcome to CBRF Pam!!!That's a sweet bike you have there and that exhaust is outta this world. You look like you know what you're doing, both in the riding and mod department so we expectLOTS of good information out of you. Take care and see you around.
i have to say this has certainly been a delightful welcome. I truely Love the CBR1000 she is an absolutely amazing bike even stock....now....I cannot even begin to describe how incredible it is now. Ihave had a wee bit of issue with her.....at 6months the stator burned out....found this ti be an ongoing issue with the bike dating back to its inception....3months later it burned out again.....this time stranding me quite a ways out alone. needless to say i was HOT. it was repalced under warrenty and the dealer had been on the phone with honde tech basically yelling at them saying this is not a customer they wanted to **** off....( I chuckled at that)... but so far so good...I monitor the output every couple days to check if the out drops even the slightest. and the first thing even one asks..."what did you alter seeing you changed so much else".....answer "nothing"...first one burned out before I even added the bazzaz system, which by the way gets power literally from the tail light power wire. So that has been the only issue I have had with the bike. have heard many have had issues here. so any chimes with what you did or what actually fixed it.( hoping it IS fixed this time tho) my guess is honda just got a huge batch of crap stators from china and just figured to run thru the whole lot and repalce whatever fails rather than scraping the whole lot.
only other pending issue really isn't an issue....the Bazzaz system....amazing and rather complicated. noticed massive changes when i installed it. the quick shift is really cool...can bang gear so fast. anyway....the default CBR map is basically a stock bike with a slip on....(I believe BP used a CBR with an Akro slip on) with the intake mods I did it runs stupid rich at the low end idle lopes a lil, but no stumble on accel at all....freakin thing tries to rip my butt off the bike. and I get slight surging around 6,000-8,000 RPMon the freeway at steady speed. now i now your all gonna say...well tuned the damned thing....DUH. easier said than done. I messed with it and just got frustrated. changing stuff then going for a ride takes an eternity. and nothing I did improved it..only made it worse. with out a dyno its like spitting in the wind. SOOOOOOOO...i cantacted bazzaz and asked if they do customer tuning...seeing they are just up the road from me in LA/Chino. they do not. figured he woulda recommended some one .....but no...so i asked WHO not only would know their system but is qualified. cause all the tuners I know just kinda scratched their heads and said "we could try" Like I'm gonna pay them 150 an hour to play with it until they figure it out. anyway i got a place now and just need to cough up 300-400 bucks (OUCH-quit it)anxious to see how nasty I have actually made this thing ...instead of guessing.....i know I have lightened it up drastically and it was mostly on rotating weight, it is freakie the weight difference in the 530 to 520 chain alone.
well enough of my early morning ramblings.
Hugs, Pamela

Did you just change the stator or did you replace the regulator/rectifier also? Did you go back with OEM? If you did then go ahead and order aftermarket performance electrical system parts and never look back. Gives you a huge boost over stock. Mine used to run rich at idle also. Found out was prolly due to poor ignition due to crappy stator/regulator. Think both together was around $200-$300 ... best money I ever spent on it.
everything seems to be running ok..the rich low end is due to the bazzaz system not being tuned correctly. I am keeping a close eye on the charging system tho and will definately change to aftermarket....do ya have a company and part numbers????
Pam. the CBR1000F has stator and reg/rec problems too
I found a co in the UK which makes a very good reg/rec with a 12 month guarantee...
http://www.electrexworld.co.uk
They make stator components too - the reg/rec has a huge heatsink, and charges from 1400RPM, unlike the std unit which only charges from around 3000RPM. I had a stator problem, which caused the reg/rec to burn out every few months - they replaced them free of charge, no problem, and assisted me in finding out the root cause.Worth the money, every time.
CEO is Peter Houghton - have a look at the racing parts they have for bikes too....
