Been a member for while justdon't get a chance to get on much. Purchased my first bike in June of this year. Black/Metallic CBR1krr. I know, i know, a bunch of yall are saying what a dumb a** for buying as a first ride. Didn't have all the info this site offers when I bought it. Its cool, i play it pretty safe. The thing still scares the s**t out of me, of course when it dosen't I guess you have a problem. Don't have very many friends that ride so if anybody can lead me in the right way to meet people that ride, hangouts, meeting points, that would be great. I live in Dallas, TX..

Thanks for coming back to do the intro. You're still here so I guess everyone is wrong about buying a smaller bike to start with. Kidding. You have to play it safe when recommending a bike to a new rider cause we don't know the maturity level. I think the 600RR is a great all around bike cause it's forgiving and you don't really out grow it, you just want more.

Wished I could help on the riding buddies... I'm alone in Virginia.

 

welcome! yeah.. the 1000rr is one bad-*** machine! not many people get that as a 1st bike but as long as you stay sane and don't try to show off... you'll be fine lots of great info/people on this site. don't forget to get some pics up of your ride!
