Default Hello from a 954 rider

Hey all,

The names Marc and I'm from Australia. Been a bike fan all my life but wasn't until about 3 years ago I bought my own bike. Started with a CBR250RR (which I didn't want to sell, just didn't have the space) then moved onto my 954 which I love to bits.

Been trying to learn more about the setup of the bike as I just bought it and rode it as is. Recently I've put new tyres on but I really need to learn about suspension setup as they are not correct for me at the moment.

Cheers, Marc.

Welcome aboard Marc!

The 954 is a great bike. Glad you are enjoying it. We have members in the 954 section/etc, that can help you w/ suspension set up. Just ask all the questions you want in the appropriate sections.

Good to have you w/ us.

Thanks guys for the welcome Here is a pick of my pride any joy. It has 33,000k's on it and I try to keep it in as greater condition as possible. I've put about 10,000k's on it since I bought it but I only ride weekends (work 9-5 as an engineer and need a car). And I like this smiley so I thought I'd use it

Hi Marc, first thing is set your sag correctly. Just google it and there is sure to be instructions on the net somewhere. Very important starting point to firstly work out if you can acheive the correct amount of sag you need and whether or not what you have in your bike is over or under sprung meaning too heavy or too light springs for your weight (wearing all your usual riding gear). I live out at Gatton if you need someone to do the holding of your bike while the measurements are taken with you on it.

Had some great fun on the weekend putting another 1500k's on her with some nice twisties. The new Pures work well, but my suspension setup and my experience is still holding me back now PRetty sure both front and back preloads are right up there on the hard setting.

That was the picture that made me fall in love with it. As soon as I saw that I knew I had to fly to another state to go see it.
