Default Hello

Hi everyone.

New here and new to the CBR.

Just picked up a CBR 600 FY 2000 plate that's hasn't run in 7 years and only completed 600 miles in the last 12 years.

The bike was in pieces but slowly getting there. It runs on idle now but rough. No pics yet. Been to busy rebuilding the bike to even think to stop and take one.

Carbs are off and questions will be asked later on.

Look forward to speaking with and learning from you in the future.

Ride safe!

Hi Strathern, hello to bonnie Scotland.
Welcome to the forum.
How long have you been on two wheels, is this your first bike?
We would love to see your pictures once the build is complete, but you don't have to wait for that.
There are some fantastically knowledgeable people on the forum who will be more than happy to help with any questions that you have.
Cheers
Al

Welcome and thanks for the intro info! There are a few cases where posting no pics is excusable...

Hope things come together smoothly for you!

Thank you for your welcome.

This is my third bike and have been riding for 12 years now.

My first bike was a VTR firestorm and second was a CRF1000 Africa Twin.

So this is the lowest capacity bike I have ever owned but has double the cylinders 😂

Really looking forward to the higher rev range and sound.

So far I have repaired rebuilt most of the bike, repaired the electrical faults and replaced part of the loom.

Still waiting on parts to be delivered for the cooling system, rebuild the rear master cylinder and do a complete clean/rebuild of the carbs.

I have managed to get the bike running briefly on idle, but that's all that it can manage. So carbs are next to get to bike engine running well.
