Hi,
I want to know which model CBR is the favorite between the 1000 954 929 and 900. I am ready to pick one up this winter. I can get a great deal on a 05 06 1000, ($5000) but think an earlier model might be a better machine. I like a bike that can be really driven hard, and gives great feedback to its rider. I rode a 06 1000, it was pretty cool but didn't make me super impressed, felt disconnected with it,..could be unfamiliarity with it. I have now a 96 f3 that I can ride backwards if I want, super fun little thing. Also, an 86 vfr750 CR500 and vtx1800. I'm 5'9" and 165lbs. riding bikes for 30 years, since 8.

WTF can you buy a 1000RR for 5 grand???

The 1000RR is going to have the new technology and better power to weight, but others will have more of the feel you have F3. Weight wise is what I'm saying. I love the 954's but if it came down to a choice like this... 1000RR without a thought.

 

i had my 97 F3 for about 4000 miles, then upgraded to my now 04 1000rr. totally different bike (weight, power, everything). and well wroth the $$ i paid. and id like to see that $5000 05/06 1000rr, cause thats dayum cheap. i paid $6200 with 5500 miles,no mods except for watsen flushmounts, puig screenand a cw f/e.

Gday , Originally I was looking to buy a 1000 so I rode a few different models from variouse suppliers. Then I was forced to test ride a new 600rr with a pipe and power comm. I was verry impressed with the over all performance and ended up buying it for the handling factor. I have a mate who has the 03 fire blade and Im definatley quicker thru twisties and only a touch off the pace down the straight. If you got the cash start test riding as many bikes as possible and decide for your self. BOL.

 

Test ride all options. I would say the 900's just because they are a different machine and I find them better looking as well. If you can get a 1000 for 5K, I would buy it, sell it and get a 900 or something like it and do alot of mods.

 

Exactly what I thought would be said, the 900 series are like the 600 feel more, but the 1000 has newest tech. I read the clip ones are like 2" lower, which I noticed driving it, and it does weigh like 20 pounds more. Also, the fact of picking one up cheap, it's a honda driven auction house, really makes it difficult, otherwise I would get the 954 without really thinking. I just hope I can aclimate to the 1000 eventually, and it doesn't always feel uncomfortable. I've also read the riding position gets no fun to be on after a while too? Thanks for your replies.

Buy the 1000 and trade me up even for my 600RR.
