Keep the revs on the bike low initially (below 5-6k) which will be plenty quick enough, until you gain experience and confidence as it will surprise you how fast these are if you give it some welly!

Welcome. These are some great bikes. Forgiving, but fast. As @Al1040 says, "you can give it some welly". My American English-speaking self had to research that one. But once I got it, yes indeed, they like it when you give them some welly.
On flip side, Haynes Service manual is my favourite to bed book.
