Greetings from sunny Canterbury, UK.

Welcome. I lived in Cambridge and we visited Canterbury (along with everywhere else in the UK as my dad was an archaeologist and loved history). I vaguely remember it being a nice town although that could be from seeing pictures. That was 1976 so never had a chance to ride a motorcycle there. Hope you have fun with it.

Hi,
The bike is a late 1987 in original blue/silver with 74,000miles on the clock.
Mechanically it all seems pretty good, and the engine is pretty quiet
It's charging Voltage was a bit low, due to one phase in the rectifier being blown, and there was a hareline frame crack by the left engine mount on the main spar. But 5 mins with the mig and a new rectifier fixed those - which I have since read are quite common issues
Idle was a little on the lumpy side, so stripped and cleaned the carbs, then reset air screws and did a static balance with a pair of 'calibrated' matched screwdrivers down the throats.
Sweet idle of 1300 from cold to hot - whch is nice.
Next on the list, tyres. It's on old BT45 that are a bit past their use by date, so considering some of the new Bridgestone RS10...
