Got the bike Wed, Rode Today... WOW! Got some misc questions too
Well I picked up an 01 f4i on wed! But since it was raining from when I got it back home til today I had no chance to ride. I took her out to a school parkin lot (schools closed for break) with a small 1/4 mile road so I could ride around for a little bit. Well for the first time on a bike I think it went very well! Was in first and second gear alot but got her up to 50 once on the road. I am taking my MSF class this march during my spring break and then getting my lisence after the class. I cant wait!
Questions: (sorry no owners manual)
How big is the gas tank on my 01 F4i?
What are normal operating temps?
How will I know when I need fuel?
Is it normal for the bike to run around 3k rpms when I first start it cold and this it idles down while it warms up?
For winterizing; should I just add the fuel stabilizer, change the oil and filter, and hook up a battery tender (I need a new tire so I am not worried about it beenin on the ground)?

BTW, Gas tank is about 5 gallons or so. Should cost like $10 to fill. Normal temp depends on the weather outside...60 degrees you should be around 175, summertime 210-230. The '04 model has a fuel indicator. Not sure about yours, when you need fuel it will come on and you'll have until the indicator runs out to get gas. Take your RPM's down a little. Maybe to about 1600 when idling. For winter you could do all that, or just start the bike ride it around the block and call it a day. I just start mine, and let it runs for about 10 minutes. Do it once a week or so. You will want to spray your chain though.

Don't mean to sound too nosy but i was wondering what did you get it for, i am looking for one right now myself and trying to figure out how much money i need to save up before i can actually get something decent, thx.
For the chain lube i would go to a local bike store and get a chain lube, but then again i don't own a bike yet, works nicely on the atv though :P.

Hey bro, not noisy good question. I walked away with it for $3,100 (but that was a steal). His price was $3,500 which seemed like a deal (01 with under 7,000 miles). But it needed new rear tire, and some work on the undertail and misc stuff for strict Maryland inspections. I was finding alot of the F4i's to be priced around 4,000-5,000 dependin on the year and miles...
