Hello,


I am about to purchase my first bike and it just so happens to be an 02 F4i. I will be picking it up next month about an hour from where I live. I was just trying to get some words of advice like is the F4i a good first bike and what I should know about. I originally picked an SV650 for my 1st bike but fell in love with the look and the specs of the F4i. Any words of wisdom from veterans would be great thanks...

They are very easy to learn on but dont ever get a big head or think your in control completely, cause when you do, thats when it will bite you hard!

 

i am far from a veteran...but i have an 06 f4i as my 1st bike, and i love it...just make sure u take it easy until u feel completely comfortable and in control...and then take it easy for another 400 miles...then u should b good

 

I think the F4i is an great bike. Glad to see you didn't get the SV650. My buddy has one and I am not impressed. Oh and welcome to the site!!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase. I like you also have an 02 F4i and i'm loving it. Like everyone is saying, Take your time to learn the bike or it will bite you hard. It's got more than enough power to put you on the ground now. This is also my first bike and to tell you the truth I think it's made a great starter bike. Just remember to take it easy for a while and always wear your gear.

Ride safe, not stupid! Don't push yourself too hard to keep up with others and wear your gear...it's cheaper than skin!
