Proud new owner of a wrecked 1997 CBR 600 f3. All of my mechanical background is on cars. Need some help with the bike. It runs from a considerable bump start (like 20mph) wont start from battery. Ran from a bump last week not sure before that. has good compression carbs need clean but wont start on ether. Any help appreciated.

I would start with a basic tune-up. Clean carbs, valve clearances check, new spark plugs, and new battery and oil change. New air filter. Once I got it running good, chain and sprockets if needed, freshen up the suspension and some sticky tires. And start doing some track days, you are in Georgia after all. Which is closer to you Road Atlanta or Roebling Road?

 

How's it running from a bump start, but not ether? Or will it now not run on either a bump start nor ether?

Try new plugs and a good carb cleaning.
