G'day from Brisbane
G'day all,
My name's Joel, andI live in Brisbane, Australia. Just fairly recently purchased an '01 Fireblade 929 which I absolutely adore, and thought it fitting that I join an appropriate forum to discuss any mods and maintenance I might pursue. I'm still a bit of a novice on bikes, but I've beenhopping on the bike every single chance I get, especially since purchasing the 'Blade, so I like to think I'm learning fast. (Poor car must be getting bored) I ride it every day to work or wherever I'm going, as well as cruising with other rider mates of mine most every week. Mt. Glorious is right on our doorstep here, and it's a fantastic ride.
Haven't been able to lay hands to a camera since the purchase (ie. haven't bothered to), but I'll post a link or somethingto the image I copied from the website I found the bike on. It's got an aftermarket exhaust (Jardine or somesuch, I still know little about bike part brands) which I think sounds very cool, and whose volume I like to thinkprotects me somewhat from silly car drivers. Other than that, it's all standard. Previous owner appears to have adjusted the suspension preload to make it softer, which I'm considering reversing. I am afairly short and light rider (about 65kg) so I'm thinking I can probably tolerate harder suspension. Any thoughts? I don'tfully understandhow preloadchanges wheelie characteristics. (I'm usually good with physics, but there seems to be a lot to consider)I also hear good things about powercommanders, but haven't investigated how they're installed.
Anyway look forward to chatting with you folks.
Regards,
-Joel

RE: G'day from Brisbane
We don't want Nicole Kidman either, she's a pompous hag.
I'd call the decal on the side of the fairing silver, but you can certainlysee a reflection in it.
Seems like most of the forum's members are American, but presumably the bikes are the same everywhere (except we drive on the left side of the road, so I guess our bikes must be right-hand drive :P )
