Fork height in triple clamps
G-day all, can anyone advise me how much fork should protrude through the top triple clamp yoke? Clearly there needs to be sufficient to mount the clip on bars but how much further should they poke through, i don't want to upset the handling. I have set them at 24mm at the moment. Thanks.

They made it the way it is for a reason: So you can adjust it.
It just depends on what suits you, your riding, your height, and your rear ride height. Obviously, it needs to be high enough to fit through the triple clamp and clip-ons (if yours go on top of the triple tree) all of the way. But it doesn't matter how much of the tubes show through as long as it's 1)even, and 2) not low enough that the bike drags exhaust pipes, oil pan, etc.

On some forums there even is a mandatory first post on the "welcome center" that no one even reads... ask me how I know...
But to answer you question on a general level, depending on what bike you have, protruding your shocks through the top triple does have effect on the bike`s response in respects of riding position (lower front end quite naturally) and it does have (some) effect on the rake angle too, in theory lowering your front end also makes the rake angle bigger and the front end more upright, this makes the steering "faster" but also more vulnerable to potholes, rocks or even a tankslapper. I wouldn`t recommend changing the angle TOO much but I`d reckon an inch (or 24mm) wouldn`t do damage yet if the position otherwise suits your height and preference.

G-day again, i am new to forums so sorry if I got it wrong.
I ride a 1995 Cbr1000F or Hurricane to our mates from the US.
I have now found out from a Honda dealer that the factory setting was 40mm above the top yoke, so have set my forks to that. Turns in well and is stable to 240kph, have not tried faster....yet.
Cheers.
