FOGeologist says... "Hey there!"
Another no0B, but this time, a FOG. Just bought a (first-term) Clinton-era CBR600 F3.
Haven't ridden in 12 years. My new steed looks like a museum piece, with some minor mods (CF rear hugger, CF triple-tree topper, CF tank guard, CF Two Brothers slip-on, smoke-tint windshield, white-anodized wheels).
Tires are new ContiMotions. Neighbor thought it was a brand-new bike when it was being rolled into my garage. Starts right up and runs great, with a little chain-tensioner noise that goes away in a minute or two when the motor heats up a little. I guess these bikes are infamous for chain-tensioner weirdness. Sometime this winter when the temps go over 3 degrees F I'll pull the fairings and replace the tensioner.

Welcome to the CBR Forum FOGeologist! And welcome back to riding as well.
That is one very nice, neat and tidy CBR600 you have bought. I can understand your neighbours confusion.
As for the cam chain/tensioner rattle, it happens often to these bikes and the fix/replacement is relatively straightforward. There are plenty of experienced folk on the forum who will provide advice/tips if asked.
Cheers, SB

She's beautiful! I personally prefer the older, smoother-faired CBR's; the newer ones are too angular for me. They look all knees and elbows!
Welcome to the forum! For those of us who are young whipper snappers or just plain too foreign, what year is a first term Clinton era bike? :P
Plus, I'm being hideously nosey; but what's with the 'Geologist' handle? I studied a BSc (Hons) and an MSc in geographical subjects. Do you like rocks too or am I being too hopeful?
