Default fng in oklahoma

just picked up an 05 f4i today. traded my 04 honda aero. its got some good and some bad. two bro cf pipe, pc III, few cosmetic things, alarm, bla bla bla. i know nothing about these bikes so i will have a lot of questions to ask. need to change the steering stem bearings and do the timing chain thing im sure. oh and the fuel gauge does not work so thats at the top of the list also. fun bike. runs really well. much better than i expected. will probably have to regear it before i turn my old lady loose on it.

Welcome aboard.

Just to let you know (in case you're misunderstanding things) the F4i doesn't have a "fuel gauge". It has an "Almost Out of Fuel" gauge. Meaning the bars indicating fuel amount don't appear until you're almost out of gas. When you hit the reserve amount, the bars on the gauge appear to let you know you need to find a gas station asap

It's the way it's supposed to work. The gas icon and bars only appear when you have .9 or .8 gallons left in the tank (not sure on the amount). The bars then begin flashing 1 by 1 as you get lower on fuel. When all 4 bars are flashing, I hope you know where a gas station is close by.

It's a common new F4i owner misunderstanding. Oh yeah... You know you have a headlight out?
