Default First Bike

Hello all.

I've had my bike endorsement since I was 18 way back in '06. Drove around in my dad's '87 Gold wing a handful of times but never really did much. Finally decided this year that I was going to just go out and get my own bike and put the endorsement to good use.

Picked up this real clean '94 CBR600 F2 on Wed. Getting it plated today and looking forward to a good summer of riding.

Pics below.

Welcome!

Looks like its in great shape. Are those the original fairings? You don't see to many old bikes around with all the stock reflectors.

"Way back in '06"... That's a good one! ;-) Just j/k.

Nice looking F2. From your pics, the fork dust seals look worn out. You may not having leaking fork oil seals but you need to replace those dust seals immediately to prevent that from happening.

Good to have you w/ us. Welcome aboard.

Ya I know '06 was only 6 years ago but that is a 1/4 of my life span haha.

Thanks for the heads up on the dust shields. I guess I assumed the vertical slits were on purpose but looking again it does appear to just be cracks in the rubber. I'll look into replacing those soon.

Rode the bike into work today. 60 degrees is a lot colder at 50mph than just standing still haha. I need to invest in a good protective riding jacket asap as well. I refuse to go on the highway longer distances with out one.

Bike has been a ton of fun. Only had it out like 3-4 times so far because I've been busy with Auto-X'g my car this past weekend. But, I drove into work this morning and was a nice ride in. A bit chilly though as I under estimated how cold 60 degrees feels at 50mph haha.
