Hello all,
I am a owner of a 1999 Honda CBR F4 I have been getting a lot of info off of the forum since the early spring as I have been doing a pretty thorough replacement/ rebuild as the prior owner(s) ragged this poor girl out. I was finally referred by TimBucTwo and figured it might be a good thing to stop snooping off of the forum and just join it. So I am glad to be a part and hope to become a valuable part of the forum. -Randy

Welcome Randy!

Quite a few F4 owners here, it's nice to have another one I got mine in the same kind of condition, but with help from these guys she's slowly getting back there.

What was wrong with yours mate, is there much work left?

^ If you can remember any links to de-cali please let the man know. (ie removal of emission hoses) Any dos and don'ts?

I was sitting with Randy last night looking at the shop manual. It looks like coolant is run through the carbs bodies. Wow, must get hot under there.

Randy also ordered the recommended jets off Sprock's and my favorite internet jet store. lol

Those stock #128 cali mains are way to small to be running pump gas.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, welcome Randy.

Welcome to the forum Randy.
Wow, how did you end up with a cali version all the way over there?

Shueisha, that would be Randy's thread.
If anyone has any advice for him, use this link....

Thanks everyone for the welcomes, for everyone, I bought this bike this spring while I was living in SD for you 74demon and San Diego for everyone else. I didn't realize how big the differences would be when I purchased this bike (being this is my first sports bike, previously dirt bike rider) I knew there would be some but the more I dig into this bike the more I realize how different it really is. The prior owner(s) they didn't do too much off of stock Yoshi Slip on, aftermarket grips and main pegs, and they removed the Cali Evap canister, but beyond that it was bone stock. Oh and the gearing they did -1 front stock rear Vortex and a 520 chain (which I think is stock) but the biggest thing they did do is they ragged this poor girl out and did hardly if any preventative or regular maintenance from what I can see. She was looking pretty sad when I got her but as gotcbr said I am bringing her back to life. I will put pictures up this weekend of everything I have done Before/After and let you all see how much better the ol' girl is doing. Thanks again to everyone and look forward to learning from you all. -Randy
