Default Easy To Learn?

Alright, this will be my last newbie post, hopefully [&:]. I don't know many riders, but is riding a talent or can pretty much anyone do it? Do you just know if you have the skills to ride a bike good and safely or can it be something some people just cannot do? Thanks

Depends...not everyone is "balanced" straight out the bucket, but if you really want to learn to ride, then you will. Like most things, it's a learned activity...for instance...lady speeding down the 110 today didn't see the backup traffic, spun out, bounced off a van in the carpool lane, then headed in my direction. It was like auto pilot...I didn't even have to think about it...quick flick to the right and left, and I'm out of danger...and she's facing oncoming traffic. Years of [learned] riding skills honed to a point of instinct and everything worked out...except for the errant driver.

Be patient, keep your mind open to new experiences, and the rest will come naturally...

Welcome, some people have a natural talent anyone can be taught how to ride but you can`t teach the natural ability and feel for what to do.

It's like any other activity -- practice, practice, practice. The more you ride the better you'll get ... to a point. I mean I like baseball and most everyone can play but I could practice til I'm 90 and never be big league material. It's just as doubtful that you'll be the next Matt Mladin -- or me either [8D]

Welcome to the family. If you focus on learning how to ride, you will be fine. There are those that are naturals. You'll be okay.

You can do it, but it takes focus. You and the bike need to become one...and don't push it.
