Dan from the UK
Hi all! I'm new to the forum and to biking.
Always loved motorbikes but made a promise I'd stay away from them till I was at least 20. Well... I hit that mile stone back in july so last August I decided to buy a Honda CBR 125r 2007 (I'll add a pic soon) , everyone that knows me told me that I'd crash it the day I got it!
Well shows what they know.... it was the second day!
since then tho she's been doing well despite my age related riding style.
I joined this forum for tips / friends and for some of your members photos to drool over!

Thanks! Yeah I have been told that before. It certainly changed the way I was thinking about riding. Was quite a shock, but I don’t plan on doing it again (touch wood). Just glad I didn't have that "learning curve" at 16!
Have you ever had any "learning curves" on any of your machines??

Every machine is a little different. Even same make and model so ya, a bit of a learning curve any time you ride a new (to you) machine. The statistics bear that out ... over half the crashes occur within the first six months of ownership.
Welcome to CBRF!
Sorry you had your mishap but hopefully you learned from it.
Have you checked into the MSF Course Motorcycle Safety Foundation I highly recommend it.

Holy crap bet that was a tad on the expensive side!? Never experienced a tankslapper yet, and I don’t think I want to either. What got you into it in the first place???
@GotCBR
No I haven't, never even heard of it, but I'm in the UK so that might be why.
Do you know of any equivalent courses over here?

To be fair only gave it a bit of a rash and lost the indicator that bike was so tough
i was showing off the accelaration ( stupid in the rain i know ) hard on the brakes then back end started kicking out then the whole bike just went into a tankslapper it was quite scary tbf :/and you can do advanced courses over here im going to do one once i get used to my CBR and have some space cash. Just ring around or ask your CBT instructor

you did well when i fist did my CBT i got a NSR125. The first day within about a hour i put it into a tankslapper and then under a BMW X5 :/ ( was parked thank god)
