well today was the day I was dreading. I went with my dad to state farm to look at insurance for the bike. I have a pretty clean driving record except for one speeding ticket. I got quoted full coverage for a year for only 360 bucks. i live in wisconsin so I would only have insurance for 6 months so my rate would be 180 bucks?! most of my friends have similar bikes with similar driving records and are paying somthing around 400 bucks for 6 months of liability. has anybody else ever gotten an insurance quote this low?

Yes, I just bought a 07 600RR and have full coverage for $280/yr. I'm 27yrs old and have 3 cars under the same plan, so that helps out.

WOW that is freakin low my insurance for libility only cost $301 a year or if I go with full coverage it will cost me $265 dollars a month. Like WTF?

You have a lot of cars under the same insurance. Also, you're not exactly that young. People in their teens and early 20's with tickets are the ones receiving a high premium.

I was quoted under 300,277 I think, if I insured with state farm and had a car under them....and yes, it was for full coverage. Oh, and I'm 20 w/ a clean record.

 

It seems to me that if you financed your bike then insurance would be in the thousands. If you buy your bike outright then you just have to worry about liability. That could range from 350 to 900 per year. I started with progressive and paid close to 1000 per year til I saw that little gecko on a bike. My rate dropped to 600 for liability for a year. Just switched again to Allstate and combined auto, home and bike and the rate for the bike dropped to 450. Shop around, there are many quotes out there.
