Default The car guys first bike.

Hi folks my name is Shaun, from temecula california currently. I just traded a ps3 and a hundred bucks for my 1987 honda 600 hurricane. its got 21k miles and runs like a champ, got 2 sets of wheels and tires and a box of extra parts that i dont even know what they go to haha. came with the helmet too. but I havn't ever really ridden a bike but im getting better at this one (just around my neighborhood since i havnt gotten my liscense yet, or registration) I need a few parts for it such as a gas cap, and new valves in the shock forks, some paint, and some glue to the fairings. but thats all coming together, I woudl post some photo's but I just ripped it apart last week to inspect and replace everything on it, but the rubber hoses and mechanical pieces look great for its age, ( I am officially 4 months older than my bike) a rider told me that my swingarm bushings are warn and thats why the tire likes to shake when downshifting, advice on this? Anyway I am a knowledgeable car guy so anything I can offer advice on I certainly will but dont expect too many posts from me not containing sometimes stupid questions haha. If this bike goes the way I want it to, I will probably drop my 69 nova project to better keep up the bike. I like older things cause you don't feel so back when you break them.

haha hard decision since i did have FF13 with strategy guide in my truck. anyhow. I will be throwing up some stable photos as I snap them this week haha. Im excited with this new toy. I will admit I used to make fun and not like streetbike people cause they went too fast for not enough money... Oh my god I was wrong haha! I just cant wait until I get something faster and get closer to that "That was too much fun moment." Currently I have the 1969 Chevy nova 4door. the 1995 Honda del sol. the 1971 volkwagen baha bug. the 2004 Toyota Tundra. and the 1978 Jeep. I may have just gotten a boat today, (1970's tri-hull) fingers crossed on that one since my last boat got towed away by the city for being in front of my house too long. 600 Hurricane, best buy i have ever made. (oximoronish as i got the call for the trade as I walked out of best buy with the ps3) haha

Welcome to the forum, Speedway!
Those older 'Canes are super tough bikes if you treat them ok. Sounds like you got a great deal, too. Congrats!
Swing down to the 600 Hurricane section, say hello, and ask away if you have any questions. (if you haven't already)
You should get some good answers from those guys..

Give up my PS3 for a bike... Ugh... But my PS3 is an original 60 gig! One of the new slim ones, without a thought.

Good deal and welcome aboard. Sans PS3, you'll have more riding time
