Default Brand New '07 CBR600RR

Hi everybody! I'm new here. I just got home with my new bike, and it ROCKs! I decided on a new '07 CBR600RR, so figured I should join a cbr forum (and I found this site so appropriately named and active with users). I'll probably be riding with most of my spare time for a little while before I come back to the forums.... In the mean time, here are some pics:

(I always ride with my helmet -- this is posing, not riding)

One problem: I had a buddy helping me setup the suspension (I'm pretty heavy) and I got the rear preload up a few clicks and then suddenly the spanner wouldn't catch hard enough to turn -- the tooth kept coming out. I want it up 2 more clicks. Maybe the notch was stripped/rounded -- the wrench looked fine, and we tried with another spanner having the same result. I guess I will go to the dealer and have the warranty cover it as a defect unless they prove that they can get it to turn. What else can I do? I did an initial guess on the damping, but it's still a little off. I will finish fine-tuning it after I get the preload dealt with.

Anyway, I'll probably be back in a few days to discuss cleaning up the tail and other issues.

I had my suspension setup at a local shop. Didn't take very long (a lot of measuring though) and only cost 20 bucks. You might look and see if you can find someone to do the same. I did the "Guessing" method when I first got my bike but having a shop help me out really made a difference for me...

Nice ride and welcome to the site...

Tried posting more of your pics up for you but for some reason they don't seem to work after I submit the post. Don't know

Love the bike. Let us know how your suspension settings turn out. I changed mine by myself. I too and a heavy guy on a 600RR so I just started setting everything a little stiffer until I found settings I like.

Welcome to the site. I hope you get your suspension figured out. I had mine in the shop once, and had them stiffen mine since they were already there. Don't think they even charged me. Glad to have you here.
