don, how long did you search for a blue one? also, wanted to ask... what's the fastest you (or anyone you know personally) have gone on the 600RR? a guy i ride with on occasion said he had his up to 178... but he's kinda full of it at times.

 

I looked for about a month... all the dealers and shops around here were more toward selling me a new 05 than looking for last years model. I really wanted the blue... oh well.

The 600RR's top out at around 160'ish. The land speed record on a 600 is just over 180... so unless your friend is a pro... I doubt he has made it to 178. But here's the catch. Does he have stock gearing? He's he changed the gearing, it'll really be off, but the factory gearing has been accused of being off by up to 10%. So at 100 mph he's reading 110 and 150, it'll be showing 165.... see where this is going? So if he dropped some teeth in the front and add some in the rear... he could possibly see 178 on his speedo.

 

as a matter of fact he has changed the gearing so i guess he might have "seen" 178. also, i'm sure he was going downhill with a tailwind!!

Thats a really lovely lookin blue, we see a few over here that colour not so many stateside? Pics look ace, glad to see your settling in nicely and not shy to post. Your mates speedo must be way off or he`s just plain tellin pork pies mate.

 

i got lucky finding a blue one. i almost gave up but i'm glad i didn't. there aren't too many blue 600rr's around these parts. and next time my buddy decides to test out his top speed i'll have him take my gps unit so we'll see his real speed!
