Default Which bike?

Hi all,

New to the site and new to big bikes. I've been looking around today for my first sports bike and have found 3 temting bikes, I'm just not sure what to go for, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice.

First choice, CBR 600F 2002, 7K miles, full history, very tidy bike £3500 from dealer

Second, CBR 600 F Sport, 2001 7K miles, full history, again very tide. 6 owners though. £3500 from dealer

Third, CBR FirebladeRR 954cc, 2002, 14k, full history, very tidy, 5 owners, £3750 from Honda dealer. And they will put me through my test, both parts with all fee's paid for £4000 all in.

ALl have full service and 1 years MOT

What do you think?

Thanks in advance

Jamie

hey Jamie and welcome to the forums!! :-)

Well, if you are new to bikes I would say stick with the 600 bikes for now, some will even argue they are too much but it all depends on your level of maturity and taking things easy until you get used to the bikes. I have heard great things about the 954 blades, very characterful and owners swear by them ..but, in my opinion, this is too mcuh for you just now ....stick with the 600, get some decent riding experience and then if you really do want more power you can easily sell the 600 and move up.

There is plenty of advice and opinions here too ... ultimately it's your decision, a modern 600 is hard to beat though for general all round riding, commuting, scratching, touring or just plain riding :-)

Good luck and let us all know what you decide upon

Jules

EDIT: one last piece of advice regarding those two 600s ... I would go for the CBR600F as opposed to the sport model, since the sport has had 6 owners and may well have been ridden harder or on the track, and you get a centre stand with the F model too ..back in those days it was hard to tell any difference in power between the F and sport anyway, most just said you lost the centre stand and gained a small tweak on the engine ... get a test ride on both if you can and see for yourself :-)
It wasn't until the 600RR came along that things really changed

Hey there Jamie, those all sound like pretty decent deals, and you know they're all great bikes. I'll agree with Juliet, 600's are awesome and have more than enough power to have a good time.
