Back in the saddle again
Hello Everyone,
I am very happy to be back on an old friend. In 1993 after a nasty divorce I treated my self to a brand new 1993 CBR1000f. I loved that in 1993 it was the fastest production motorcycle built. I rode every chance I got for the next five or six years even taking some long distance trips. Then after remarrying and buying a brand new house I found I was not riding much so I sold my wonderful CBR. When I told my wife that I was going to sell it to a friend I work with she started crying and said I couldn't sell our bike. We dated on that bike and It was on this bike she got to go 125mph +. Well I did sell the CBR and regretted it every since. Well my friend had moved on the BMW's and the CBR was just sitting in his garage collecting dust. I asked if I could buy it back and was thrilled with his response. I got a great deal knowing I would have some do some work on it. Well this morning I went and picked it up. I was happy to see the big CBR again even thou it had been put away wet, dirty and then let sit for three years not even have been started in that time. The tires were flat, gas had gone bad, battery dead, and it was very dirty. A little labor of love this next week and I will have the CBR back in running order and all cleaned up. A few things I had done were to put a Vance & Hines SS2R full exhust sytem, K & N filter, Lockhart dark gray windshield, tank bag, saddle bags, tail bag, 100 watt head light, and lastly I drilled every external nut and bolt and safety wired them.
Well my wife was not too thrilled about buying it back, she would have prefered a big touring bike in about two or three more years. She understands my need for go fast toys.
I am getting closer to fifty now and I hope I still will be comfortable on this bike. If you see a very clean Black, silver & red CBR north of Denver give me a wave. Pat

That's like getting a second lease on life. Not many people love a vehicle so much that they get the chance to buy it back and still get the thrill again.
Good luck and welcome to the board.

Know what you mesan about that bike! I, too, bought my '93 1000F in June of '93 and still have it. Even when I brought the XX home, I couldn't bear to part with it. (Also bought it after a major crisis)
Congrats on getting a great bike back.
