I had a CBR600FX years ago that was mint. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of it as I was needing money at the time. Wish I'd never let it go. So as a little christmas present to myself I've just got a black and orange CBR600 F. Needs a bit of work but it's so nice to be back on the road on a CBR. I have a soft spot for them. Being 6'3" I find them fairly comfy to ride.
I'll be asking a few tech questions as she needs bits and bobs but is still on the road which is the main thing. I've got some new gear coming for christmas as I'm a bit bigger than I was a my leathers are "snug" to say the least.
My fist thing is a service and getting a new rear seat fairing and grab handle. Not a fan of how it's been covered.
Lovely, I also have a soft spot for the F3 as it was my first 'new' bike a 1998 FW.
Welcome to the forum, that looks like one of the aftermarket rear seat covers that has been blended to the existing side panels...
Welcome! Thanks for the pics. We are kind of simple, we thrive on pictures.
The f3 is the best model ever produced. I took a vote of all of us f3 owners and we all agree.
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, a moulded seat cowl but not very smooth finish or paint. I might try and cut it off, tidy and repaint the fairings. Trying to find some but can only find the Aliexpress ones that are a different colour.
The bike looks fine in your pictures, with the exception of the poorly finished mod on the tail fairing, flea bay might produce a good second hand replacement tail, seat and grab bar.
Yeah I've been looking but really hard to come by. Have ripped off the old cowl now. But the rear fairings don't wanna sit together very well. Still on the hunt for some OG ones to fit.
New tail tidy, mirrors, Indicators , chain and sprockets and service and did the Digi dash conversion. I can now see what speed I'm going. Always helps.
