Another one joins
Evening, just a quick Hello to all. I've just picked up a couple of decent little examples, CBR600F3 and a CBR918 Blade.
They were not exactly barn finds but back of someone's shed for a couple of years.
No doubt they're going to need a little bit of work here and there hence joining up as usually the guys that run them hold all the tips n tricks to fix them!
Look forwards in anticipation to gleaning some valuable knowledge when needed.
I'm not new to Honda's or indeed bikes. I think it's the mid life scenario settling in.
Last couple of years I'd gathered, fixed rode and swapped around etc.. between a CB1000 Big one (should have kept that one) A Triumph T309 (solid but heavy), an XJ900 pre divvy (comfortable) a GPZ600r 87 ( I might get that back I know the current owner) plus currently a mint low miles Zephyr 750.
The CBR's are something I always had in my mind to get both a 600 and 900 and the opportunity just arose.

Thanks for the welcome.
I believe I have an F3 600, last steel frame and carb model?
Plus the Blade after finding several options I believe is a 918, is the 919 different or just a few upgrades?( basically same bike) I see the only difference is I have a round temp gauge, analogue not the little digital thing there. Plus the front sections of the upper frame are black? I've seen a few pictures on the net like this. My assumption is just slight model derivatives but we know where assumption gets you!

Wow! You really did hit the jackpot!!
I was expecting a couple of worn-out old hacks, they look really nice.
The blade looks the same model as mine 96/97?
A lot of parts are interchangeable with the earlier models, but you have to be careful, as there are differences.
Judging from the pictures they'll just need fluid changes, chain lube and maybe a carb clean and then ready to go

You can actually see the shed they came out of! They're still near my brothers place I'll get them trailered down soon as poss. He's checked them over, charged them up and both fired straight away. The 600 looks fine just a check then MOT.
The Blade was leaking through the O rings between carbs but has cured itself, I suppose they were just plain dried out. Plus it's forks are leaking so bushes time and new oil. There's a K Tech sticker on the suspension so I would think it's been rebuilt at some point. The 600 has 50K miles on it , the 900 has 40K miles.
600 is on an N plate, Blade is an R plate so yes 96/97.

Just a quick update on the 600 of the pair.
After an initial look and inspection all as usual was not as fine and dandy as we'd all like.
So far work done or in progress, well I'll let the pic tell the story!
After getting it running, many thanks for previous posts here. The assumption was it had run low on old fuel plus a failed fuel pump, when I pulled the plugs they'd oiled right up and needed a change as there was virtually no post part left!, drained bowls, tank, refilled tank with some fresh fuel, by passed the pump to see if the engine would run and bam fired straight up, new pump ordered!
Headstock bearings were shot old ones out just waiting for new parts.
Other MOT bits will be a brake clean up they work just a bit sticky. Put it all back together over the next few weeks and hopefully get it on the road.
Also ordered a replacement radiator due to leaking, brakes and a dubble screen
