Default Another newbie from SoCal :)

Well, the time is getting pretty close. I got my insurance quotes from Mercury Insurance for Liability, Medical, Uninsured Motorist @ $58 per month. Should be taking my MSF course in about a week or two, already picked up an HJC helmet (The Arai and Shoei I tried on felt uncomfortable o.O weird.. they were $600 too when the HJC was only $160 heh.) And I'm looking into getting some protective gloves and boots as well as a jacket.

I've been going to Bert's Mega Mall alot lately just to look at the bikes and gear and try things out, and I've finally made my decision to go with a 2001-2003 Honda CBR F4i in either Red/Black Silver/Black. Their prices seem a little on the high side, but the service people are nice and welcoming, unlike my experience at Hahm Motorsports a few years ago. I know I should probably just buy from a private seller, but I just feel more comfortable financing it through the dealership since I'm pretty new to the whole thing.

Last I checked at Bert's a 2003 Honda CBR 600 F4i with about 4,000 miles was going for $7400 o.O I'm hoping I can maybe talk them down a little on it.

Well, if anyone has any tips or critisism they can throw my way, I'll gladly take it ;P

Hey man, I go to Bert's all the time too, and I have noticed that the prices there are a little steep. If you can't get em to go down on the price at all, see if you can have em throw the gear your looking for in there. If my memory serves me correctly a freind of mine just got his 2002 F4i there a couple weeks ago, and I think they threw in his helmet. It's definately a cool place though. Oh, and I would also feel more comfortable buying a used bike from a reputable dealer as opposed to a private party, just because I'm sure they go through a checklist of things before they can put it on the floor and sell it to you. Ya know? Good luck.

Burts is a lil high...keep looking around....and like they said above....get them to throw in the gear...they are more willing to give gear than come down on price....

I think that's a little high...take the safety course and redo the numbers. That bike should be closer to 3-4k.

Show the insurance company your MSF card and you will get a discount.
