Default Am I being stupid/squid-like?

Hi there all, I'd like to hear from some people about what they think. Give me an honest opinion, flames are allowed as long as they're not too ridiculous .

Anyways I found a 2000 929 for 5500 in my area, seems like one hell of a deal (too good? let me know that as well, they said clean title). Anyways, I've been riding a ex250 for a while, put about 2000 miles on it in EVERY kind of condition (including a smidge of snow in there and rain). I wasn't stupid while riding in those conditions, and never even felt particularly intimidated (Be that good or bad). Just did it smart. Anyways. I know the 959 has a LOT of power, would it be too much for me to handle? Would I probably end up pushing myself with that power and hurting myself? Obviously I wouldn't push myself or the bike for quite a while, but the deal seems nice and something I won't be able to top for a while. Is it a bike that I could keep under control with some brain? And the next question, I'm 6'6" would I be alright on this bike? I actually fit surprisingly well (as well as possible) on the ex250 because of the setup of the bike ;P

So any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks

hmm... well i've never heard of a 959.. 929 or 954 yes. anyway, that'll be a huge step-up in power for you - coming from a 250, but like you said as long as you keep your head straight you should be fine. take time to LEARN the bike. price is decent... any mods?

ya sorry was combining the 2, I caught it after I posted it, too late I think for your view

929 though

6200 miles, looks stock, don't see anything that looks particularly noticeable.

first thing i'd do though is get some sliders

lmao you never know custom honda!

But yea frame sliders are my plan no matter what I decide to do with a new bike.

btw still original blinkers, no flush mounts so i'm leaning towards the fact that the bike hasn't even been dropped ever. (this is a dealership so they don't know the full history of stuff like that)

I am 6'4 230 and alot of my friends say i look huge for my bike. in actuallity it fits real nice like a glove...lol. I have ridden a 929 954 and those are not bad bikes for the height. seat to handle bar reach might be a bit steep since we are sitting taller, so you might experience some numb hands or sore wrists on long rides. Other than that decent bike go with it.

I say if you can take your time learning the bike, and improving your skills go for it. You don`t need to be intimidated by any amount of power aslong as your aware of how to use it.
