Default after buying first bike

Hey everyone,
This weekend I am looking at picking up my first bike and I dont really think you can always trust when someone says always taken care of. I as just curious as to what things should be checked/changed after i get the bike back to my place. Also any other things that should be done right away? Thanks alot.

Dan

It seems like once you have the bike home is a little late to be finding out whether he took care of it.

But some of the things you should check immediately are tire wear and proper inflation, brake pads, fork seals, chain tension. Ask him when he last changed the oil, brake fluid, plugs, air filter, coolant, fork oil.

Maybe have a buddy you trust ride it to check if the brakes feel right and stuff like that. If you are new, you may not know what things should feel like.
