2011-2013 honda cbr600f idling
Hi
I recently bought a CBR600F (like a Hornet with a fairing?) and it idles way too high. Around 1400 rpm afrer the electronic choke cuts off and the engine is properly warm/ridden. Adjustment at throttle cables at handle bars does not help, can only adjust cable tension there.
All other modern Hondas I had could adjust the idling with a capped screw dangling out on the right of the bike, just under cover of the fairing. (VFR 800 and CBR1100XX). One can turn it with your fingers or a star screw driver inside that plastic.
I find no such adjuster on the CBR600F. How on earth do you adjust the idling higher or lower? I have never stripped this bike.

He might have a manual adjustment. If it's like mine, there will be a black cable adjuster tucked under the left fairing (sitting on the bike).
Also, check your coolant level. Low coolant will cause a high idle.

It is Fi yes but still all engines idling can be adjusted. Carb and Fi. Even on cars. Maybe it is at the cables itself where it connects at the throttle bodies under the airfilter. I still cannot find the usual cable adjsuter that all other Hondas I had (Fi models) were having either left or right tucked inside under the fairing. Will remove the left fairing panel and look, thanks 74Demon
Yes all Hondas without carbs are Programmed Fuel Injection, but you cannot adjsut anything on that device. The idling adjusts directly with the throttle bodies cable connection, all Hondas have a loose cable coming from there to make it easy to adjust, else you have to remove the tank etc just to get in there. Seems the CBR600F is like that. ALL fi things can be adjusted to idle faster or slower. As engines 'wear in' and get loose they usually idle faster. And thus needs adjustment
