Welcome aboard Justin!
From the pics, it looks like a nice split-seat F4i.
Prices typically vary from one place to another but all are based on book value. KBB lists an '02, in your area, in "excellent" condition, w/a book value of $2,900. Throw in a *reasonable* profit for the dealer you purchased from, & $3,100 is fair. They prob got it for much less than $2,900 anyway, but that's how they price 'em. So, they still did very well on it, I'm sure.
Be sure to verify what maintenance they did to the bike, if any. If they didn't do anything but clean it up to sell, be sure to do basic maintenace...change oil & filter, flush & replace brake fluid , flush & replace radiator fluid, check air filter (replace if necessary), check chain condition & check tension, check sprockets, etc.
Congrats.

to bad once i got it home it started making a top end knock. they had done a Cam tension-er about a month ago so i thought it was maybe since it sat the lifters didn't have oil on em so they were knocking or the tension-er needs to be shimmed witch they think it needs to be shimmed and that's why its knocking. so i brang it back and they will be taking care of it i guess!
