Talking 06 F4i upgrade

Hey guys,

I bought a 06 f4i last year for too much, it was in good condition but i rushed into buying it too fast. Well its been dropped a time or two and has some cosmetic damage, it still runs im not sure how well but i take it everywhere so im not really Complaining. I want to put some cash and time into it you know get to know here alot more. So I wanna convert the single long seat into a dual seat like the rr's and give her a whole new paint job. Can anyone help me out where i can get started?

Welcome to the forum Julian!

If you want to do a conversion from banana seat to '01-03 split-seat, take a look at my tutorial. That should get you started. :-) If you need any help, just let me know.

Good to have you w/ us.

I had to gather my conversion parts over the course of a few months. Mine came from the usual places; ebay, CL, word of mouth, etc.

The main thing you need to get started is the '01-03 split-seat subframe. Sometimes they're easy to find, other times not. Additionally, you'll need the '01-03 battery tray, seats, tail light, tail cowl, misc hardware (most reused from your banana seat tail). Its a very straight forward conversion & easy to do.

You should look around here on the forum in our classifieds sections. I believe there are a few parts still avail.

Prob the easiest place to find a new tail cowl new is at Delkevic. They will sell you the tail cowl for about $85-100.

Welcome.

Good luck fixing her up. The split seat conversion will be awesome. Listen to gotcbr, he knows that conversion very well.

Where are you located?
