**I reckon it's a bit disturbing but a great song. lol

kilgoretrout 08-30-2009 12:57 AM

That is a good song, Dao....

Mark, I like the specials, too, and obviously Elvis Costello.

I've been listening to Clutch tonight.
It's weird how they're getting so big now. I remember seeing these guys in chitty little clubs in MD like 10-15yrs ago. Tim Sult is an amazing guitarist, and the whole band has really refined their sound.

kilgoretrout 08-30-2009 08:05 PM

I cranked a little Matthew Sweet tonight...
He's a very talented guy, no doubt about it.
He sings a lot of love songs, but some really catchy stuff. Hell of a guitar.
One of my personal favorites from back in the day is "Girlfriend". It took me 20mins on you tube and they didn't have it, so I found it on DailyMotion.
Matthew Sweet -- Girlfriend

Sick of myself is a good one, too, but there are a lot of them...

Sick of Myself

kilgoretrout 09-04-2009 11:19 PM

On the ride to work today, I listened to some CSNY on the ipod.

Suite Judy Blue Eyes
Helplessly Hoping (not the best version, btw)

On the ride home I played some John Denver.
Country Roads
Leaving on a Jet Plane (ignore the dumb video...lol..)

I remember listening to this stuff when I was a kid. My mom would always let me pick a record to listen to before school every day. These were a couple I really liked.. :)
(along with many others....)

hawkwind 09-05-2009 01:50 AM

Some really dumb folks thought John Denver was on drugs 'cos he wrote a song called 'Rocky Mountain High':icon_screwy:

CBRclassic 09-05-2009 01:55 AM

"John Denver was on drugs" ? :icon_doh:
geese ....what planet must have those people been on Steve .. lol

hawkwind 09-05-2009 02:40 AM

Mornin'/evenin' Steve:icon_wink:

Some peeps are crazy:icon_shrug:

You want a laugh? At the moment , the piece of music goin' through my head while I ride is that well known classic 'The Hokey Kokey!!':icon_teeth:

Find it helps with my approach to the corners , you know how it goes......

You put your elbows in

Your left knee out

In out in out you turn it all about

You lean the bike right over and you straighten up

And that's what it's all about!

You can all join in the chorus if you like:icon_teeth::icon_teeth:

Those nice men in white coats are comin' to take me away , but they can't catch MEeeeeeeeeeeee:icon_bike:

CBRclassic 09-05-2009 03:40 AM

Morning Steve ...***** :)

mate , that song is catchy !!! http://www.cbr-riders.com/forum/imag...s/smiley20.gif
Yu could apply it to Counter Steering too with little effort ... LOL

BTW ...if those guys in white coats did actually hear you ....your a gonna mate ..!!! :icon_doh:

kilgoretrout 09-05-2009 11:32 AM

Haha! Whatever gets you through the turns, Hawk!

I wouldn't worry about the whitecoats... They're too busy chasin' classic. Have been for years now... :icon_teeth:

They're coming to take me away!!

As far as John Denver on drugs...I'm sure he's experimented a few times....but nothing like CSNY! :D

It's really cooled off here and just about time to start running. I think the first race I'll do this year is in October. Not much time to prep, but I've been working out alot so I'm actually in pretty decent shape going in. Loading my playlists for roadwork and thought I'd share a few.

I use this track on my playlist when I run as a warmup. It's hauntingly beautiful (imho) and I could listen to it all day. Prolly not for everyone.

Kenji Kawai- Reincarnation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUqQRj5KfUc

Some other stuff on my running list
Turbonegro- Get It On http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH9WY3YtV4g

Nice to see your a man of contrasts there , me too . Any neighbours listening to my collection would get a bit confused and think there are three or four peep's living in the same place:icon_wink: Like to keep 'em guessing:icon_teeth:

Plenty of high energy stuff to get you through the training , good stuff mate:icon_google:

DaoJones 09-12-2009 11:32 PM

Thank you Hawk, you sound like my kind of people! The wife says I have the most eclectic taste in music she's ever seen. I may live in redneck country but I've not from here. I've travelled a bit in my days and seem to have an knack for fitting in most anywhere I land. At least publicly. :icon_angel: The locals will never figure me out. Hell, the wife hasn't in 20 years and she's had a better shot at it than anyone. :icon_wink: I'll post some more here and there.
I'm liking a lot of what everyone is posting, plenty that I've never heard before.

Right now, I just can't stop listening to this ... let's just say it takes me back, and I need a lot of that right now ..sometimes the future is not all it's cracked up to be ..lets all vanish into our favourite times ... is that so wrong??

CBRclassic 01-16-2010 06:20 AM

If you love that one Jules ...you would have to be an Enya lover too ...
I have 4 Enyu albums here that I quite often play on my down stairs stereo with all the windows wide open while I lay on my back out in the courtyard garden gazing up into the stars late in the evenings ...
One haunting lady she is ... her music takes me places that no other music can ...
So many are my favorites ...but here's 3 special ones just for you missy ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8XXc...eature=related

believe it or not , I have actually had people from 200mts away down our street call the cops on me for playing Enya to the whole street late at night ... a few bourbons , warm nights and Enyu up loud while star gazing flat on my back in the garden ... seemed ok to me? ... lol
Even the cops liked the music they said ...
