Post Trying to find a taller screen

Guys, I need some help in finding a taller screen for my 1000F-L 1991.
I've been through a load of the archived info on screens in CBRF and found some interesting info and feedback but looking through manufacturers offerings, notably MRA it seems that no one lists anything specifically for a 1991 model.
Would a screen for a 93 model fit a 91?

I'm just trying to get a bit more wind protection for my daily 90 mile ride without having to crouch too much when the wind gets up.

Any suggestions and riders experiences would be much appreciated.

Somehow I knew you'd be the first to come back on this Pete.
Your input on screens stretches back over quite a few years in this forum. ONe can't help but listen to the wise wizard......

I've just found one at Twisted Throttle.

I need some feedback before shelling out.

I've still got that annoying tapping thing going on in my top end but soon hope to sort that out with a swap from my spare engine. Just need some time to get it together.
Apart from that she's running like a champ.

I may experiment with making an adjustable screen extension to see if I can work out the best screen height before buying something else.
I think I'm just a bit too tall for the stock to work quite right.

Good to hear from ya anyway. Hope all's well in your world.

Henry,
Have a look here mate. I've bought a few screens of these guys over the years and find them excellent. They do all types for all bikes. Email them and tell them your bike model year etc. They will email you a heap of pics of different screens for your bike from previous. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bordo.
Oz is probably not the best place for me to order anything from but it's helpful to know there's a bit more choice.

The one on my bike is about 4" higher than std Henry and moves the air nicely over your head - makes a huge difference - if you duck your head slightly you get no wind at all.
If you need more pics, lemme know.
Cheers our Enry

Pics would be great. Yes Pleeeeeeeeeease.

100mm higher is kind of what I was thinking.
If I duck behind my standard screen the world goes quiet. A periscope might be my next acquisition if I was considering that a viable long term solution. He he.... A chin pillow on the fuel cap could be a nice touch too.

Henry,
I have bought plenty of stuff for my bikes from the UK and the USA over the years and have never had any problems with any of it. Sometimes you have to look outside of the square to get what you need. Don't be put off from buying from other countries. A lot of the time it is well worth it, especially here as we get ripped off big time. Cheers.

zero gravity makes a touring windscreen that is pretty tall. I don't know how tall it is compared to the stock one but I hope this helps
