Yeah, really.
The guys on the phone to his buddy: "Man, I was just cruisin' down the highway like 45MPH!!....no that's not really why I'm calling you.... I just need you to come pick me up again....yep, I'm stranded down by the Exxon station." LOL..

Pablo, that bike pic is crazy.
Maybe the guy just leaned it there back in the 80's and forgot where he put it...

You beat me to that. I was going to say "Hey, I've been LOOKING for that!"

And Steve, I had a pool in each of my last two places, 10 years each. It was great for the kids, but talk about a money pit and a time burner. I was always having to fix or replace something. And never anything cheap. I've sworn them off for good. If I want to get wet now, I'll just have Trout send me some WD40.

Amen on the pool issue - HATE THE DAMNED THING !!

BTW - why would it be a problem to mount a gearbox to an electric motor to give you speed and range...............................?
A lathe runs a gearbox which will give you torque and speed.............
Unless I'm missing something.......

I've wondered this, too. I think it's just kinda complicated to homebrew that, too?
I mean, they definately make them like that, but it's the bigger companies.

I mentioned the October '09 "Going Green" issue of Mototcyclist Magazine earlier in this thread. If any of you are interested in reading a few articles on electric bikes, this issue was an interesting one.
They also had a guy at a smaller moto shop who designed a hydrogen generator for his ZX10R or some chit that gained him like 15MPG and pretty impressive HP gains. (just add baking soda every 2,000miles!)
They also review a few all electric factory production bikes. (no big sportbikes...but not scooters either)
The feature article was on the All Electric Isle of Man TT this year. Cool article.
Worth the read... interesting mag...

Well kilgoretrout, that's nothing. Check out this video and try to imagine these folks traveling down the country roads of the Isle Of Man up against those stone walls. It makes me shutter.
