Taking the kids to see Lemmy!
Hey guys. Well, the apples didn't fall far from the tree when it comes to my kids. As soon as my 14yo young bloke heard Motorhead were playing at the Gold Coast he started nagging me, so I finally bought tickets. My 12yo daughter can't wait either. The missus passed though...can't think why. Matching tour shirts all round for when we go to family functions??
Should be an interesting mix of people methinks.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. Not sure how many other dads will have the 12yo daughter in tow. It'll certainly moderate my behaviour...perhaps not a bad thing. My parents told my daughter that I'm still an overgrown teenager. I'm happy to say that they're right on the money.
Pete. All the horror weather didn't affect us, other than the need for another few tons of 50mm blue metal in the wheel rutted driveway. It's just bloody hot atm.

I used to crank up the stereo any chance I got...some of it must have made it through the uterine wall I guess. TYB's favourite band is Rush. Most of his mates haven't even heard of them.

Hey guys.
Well, Friday was the night and it was f'n great!! LOUD doesn't describe it.
They started with Iron Fist and played a lot of the old stuff, mixed with a few newer ones. 'Rock out with your **** out' caused my kids considerable laughter.
The last song was Ace of Spades and the encore was Overkill. I'm stuffed if I know how the drummer could play that after the whole gig was 100mph pace. He's pretty damn good! The drum solo in the middle of the gig was one of the best I've seen. They gave it 100% and were awesome live. Lemmy's a funny ba5tard too.
The range of people was huge. There were a couple of people well into their 70s, badass biker types (not the buckle wearing variety, the hardcore ones), nerdy teenage heavy metal fans and heaps of guys around my age.
I only saw about 3 other kids there and my daughter was by far the youngest girl. We got some curious looks and a few smiles and some "good on you" comments too.
Love 'em or hate 'em, Motorhead are still going hard after 36 years!

No Sprock, unfortunately i was one of the "mother f#ckers" in the seats at the back. My kids weren't allowed in the general admission area down the front, and had to stay in the seated area. I would have been allowed down there but there's no way I was leaving my kids alone...maybe next time.
I'd driven 540km earlier that day and had put in a session in the surf so I was pretty knackered anyway.
It's a shame they didn't play up your way. I'd have liked to have got on the p!ss and carried on like a tool but had to behave to keep my kids safe...ah the good old days.
