Super Clean!
So I was just voting on the ROM and having a look at the two entries. It never ceases to amaze me how clean these bikes are , especially the chain and sprockets! Do these guys even know what chain lube is , let alone use it?
The moment I lube up my chain it's splattered all over my nice white wheels so I give the bike another good scrub and get the black stuff all over me instead
. How the hell do they keep the chain soooo clean??

I always wondered the same thing. I think picture time is just that... just for pics. Total clean...pics....then ride!
However, I just this weekend decided to try wax over my usual slathering of leftover gear oil
That sprayable, no-fling chain wax is some pretty slick shlt!!
I forgot how pretty my new sprockets and chain could be (hell, I even forgot what color my chain was supposed to be!
)
After riding for a couple days since doing it, it still looks great. 100% better than a few days after my old method.

I dunno guys ...
What I do know is if you ride these bikes regularly ...keeping them that clean would be a bloody nightmare
May be they are just cleaned to death for the photo's ?
Or may be they are barely ridden?
Use good non fling off lube and you wont get that chit on your rims much at all...
I can lube my chain , then ride 200-300 klm with hardly any splatter ...
a few dots of black gunk at the most .. and its easy to wipe off
BTW.. my sprockets I leave a nice even dark black gunkie color ...
I never shine them up ... ****that

I hear ya, steve.
I don't clean my bike that often. Hell, I should probably clean it a bit more than I do, but who the hell cares, right? Maybe I should cut my hair more, too, but twice a year whether it needs it or not seems to be working ok for me.
I have clowns at work that always bug me about when I'm gonna clean it.
I usually just say some shlt like "next time your wife stops by, I'll make her clean it up for you"
They all spend more time shining up their harleys than they do riding them. That is no lie. I know this. Their wives tell me...

So, Trout, you got that name trout because while the Harley boys are cleaning their bike, you are spawning with their gals???
I use that orange mechanic's hand cleaner to clean the rear rim (No, Classic I am not gay and I don't live near San Francisco - not that type of "rear rim cleaning" what were you thinking?). Takes that sling grease off like nothing. Just put the mechanic's hand cleaner on a rag and put it on the wheel rim. Quick and easy. Takes 2 minutes to do both sides of the rim and it doesn't need to be rinsed off, just wipe it clean. Put the bike on the center stand to help with spinning the tire. Anything you get grease on, use that orange smelling mechanic's hand cleaner. Get grease on your jeans, use the orange stuff.
Only time I do not use it is when the neighbor's poodle gets some grease on her while pissing in my side yard!!! Then I just look at my neighbor's reaction to having a white poodle with a blob of grease on its head!!!
I just say, "Oh sorry Tammy I forgot that my hands had grease on them when mimi came over to be petted!" I never get mad at the dog, I just call it over to be petted with a blob of grease in my hand.
P.S. Forgot to mention, if you ever get road grime on your car fender, use mechanic's hand cleaner on a rag to get it off. Kind of like the dad on My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He used Windex on everything, I use orange mechanic's hand cleaner on everything. I put it on my poison oak that I got - didn't do anything, but it smelled orangy....

I think in reality quite allot of riders spend prolly more time cleaning that riding
but hey , I suppose everyone does what they get a buzz out of the most ..
Don't get me wrong though Dylan , if I go for a long day ride , I will always clean my paint and rims ect before I put her away...

fvuck the rear sprocket though ..it can stay that nice dark greasy color... LOL

Steve my friend, don't worry about me. I am already FUBAR (F.ucked Up Beyond All Repair). Segmind Freud had a name for people like me - "Hopelessly insane person."
So, worry little and stop working so much!!
This f.ucking wind in the desert is amazing! I think this house is going to end up in Oz like Dorthy's did!!! 60 mph winds and we are going to get some gusts of 90 mph!!! Who needs skin durmabrasion? Just face into the wind in the desert!!!
This is going to contiue for a couple of days. Looks like I am not going riding for a while. Now, you can start worrying about me Steve......
P.S. I think I hate riding in a gusty cold wind the most.... I mean the kind of wind that makes you lean 45 degrees into it so as not to end up in the lane beside you!!! The next couple of days are just that kind of wind.

FUBAR (F.ucked Up Beyond All Repair)
Work has slowed down over the last week too..
Those winds sound bloody awful ... not my favorite conditions to ride in ether ...
Being near the ocean ,we do get allot of days where the 45 degree riding thing is necessary on the freeways around here.....
****s me riding like that

We have had quite a few wet and windy days here for about a week now .. its weird the weather here at the moment ... windy with showers , then patches of dam sunshine ... not much more than a few hrs between the bursts of rain

Been going to get the CBR out a few times today , but the moment I go near the gear , over comes the clouds and puts me right off the idea ...and sure enough an hr or so and the showers move in again ..
its driving me nutts!!!! ......and that ain't a very long drive mate...
