For those that have never heard an F1 engine at full noise; let me assure you, that no matter how loud you have the speakers turned up; it is nothing like the real thing.
My good lady wife and I were fortunate enough to attend the Melbourne GP in 2010. Her first reaction to hearing an F1 engine on the practice day was just to laugh outrageously. She simply couldn't believe that any "car" could be that fast and that loud. And when you get three or four of them in very quick succession, it really does just melt your brain. After about ten minutes, you need to stuff the complimentary earplugs in, just to try and make the headache go away. |
About the only thing I don't like about F1 is Sebastian Vettel, great driver that can win just about anything, but had to steal a win off Webber, a55hole

Good lady wife and I have always perceived Webber as the a55hole, who appears to not like the fact that maybe a German might be a better driver than he is? Of course, any opinions formed are very much guided by the snippets our own local media chooses to feed us with. History will show though, that the winningest (is that a word?) drivers in F1 have almost all come out of Europe, apart from the great Ayrton Senna (who I seem to recall, was the original reason for this post). That was awesome. I haven't watched an F1 race since Senna died. Some of my most prized possessions is the Marlboro Team McClaren memorabilia I got from them.
