Geez !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't let the kids anywhere near your screen when that pic is up - HOOOOOOO
Drop Bears just got "dropped" from my Christmas list..................

But I have heard people have tamed Koalas, even a Tazzy Devil and I know of at least one Wolverine that's a house pet.

But I think we've just been had............................by another kind of Bear

To be fair, I'm a little surprised it's taken over 24 hours for the Seb Bear to be exposed. Although the National Museum of Australia link did look reasonably convincing.

Ya caught me out Shadow!!

But t'wern't it fun!

I actually had my sister send me this wonderful photoshop photo of a drop bear in full descending flight which I was going to put up tonight - probably still will when I can be bothered retrieving the phone from the car.

And, believe it or not, the museum site is real - the joke is in the distribution of the bear, it makes a Koala face in the desert where there are no 'trees' per sé. The other Gov't warning is a fake.

Please come to Australia DRam, the Drop Bears may be a hoax but all the White Pointers are friendly

Which is completely opposite to those NZ 'Black Sheep"! I'll be packing the ubiquitous Vegemite to smear behind my ears to act as a repellent so this doesn't happen.....................

I think he may have used Marmite - which University tests have shown does not work.

Cheers, SB

Sorry for jumping in late.

Do these critters become feral around human populations and a bit more tame like peacocks, racoons and squirrels and deer?

Woof, you have to be incredibly unlucky to be hurt by a Koala. Yes they have huge claws, but that is for climbing the smooth trunks of gum trees - the claws are needed to dig in. They would never physically attack unless they felt, very, very threatened.

If they thought you were a tree and tried to climb you, you would suffer deep cuts though.

Koalas are a favorite at fauna parks for visitors to hold and be photographed with. All fluffy and cute, with big wooly ears..........

A bit like me really
