Default Sacrilege!

OK guys. I'm thinking of getting a bike I can ride 1000's of miles without my spine losing it. Maybe you guys can do that on the hurricane but my spine is not in tune with that. After 50 miles I'm hurting pretty bad. OK call me a *****, but try it to my face.

What would you guys recommend for a touring bike? My car is a 740IL and my previous one was a XJ6 Vandom Plas. I need something that will float. What are my choices? If you guys forgot I have my 2 lower disks herniated and arthritic.

I'm actually very happy that I can ride a bike again after 10 years but I guess I'm just getting old.

Psssssssssst, don't let anyone on the forum know I told you this but if you want something that is as long lived, has as much power as the CBR1000F, more upright seating with a larger screen that you can EASILY do 1,000 km per day on...............

Scroll down

1986-2006 Kawasaki GTR1000 Concours
I should know, I have two of them, an 1986 and a 1993

Cheers, SB

W0W that is funny, I remember a guy on base falling over on one of those in 84 and it only fell to like a 12 degree angle and stopped! Lol we laughed our *** off! The cones were too close for him to corner.

Can you actually corner on those? It looked like a mac truck back then.

I would say, if you still wanted a bike that retains some sporting angle to it, go with a Kawasaki Concours. A little more upright and I'm sure Corbin makes a saddle with a driver's backrest for some lumbar support.

They've been making that bike for years and good ones can be found for decent money. I'm sure their owners are just as passionate as we are.

I've always have half an eye out for a good one myself.

I think Seb owns one. He'd be the guy to talk to

Here's one I prepared earlier

Mrs SB and the Bear about to board the overnight ferry to Tasmania.

This 1993 bike has done over 100,000 km, 60,000 in my ownership. It has progressive springs, uprated brakes to 4 spot calipers and wavy discs, de-restricted carby caps, cruise control, corbin saddle with a lambswool cover, braided brake lines, Cee-Bailey screen, non-vibration bar ends, spotlights, tip-over bars, stick coils and lots, lots more and is a breeze to ride and corners in a VERY spirited manner with 2 up.

Mrs SB and I did a 14 day, 9,000 km tour on it last year, from the Adelaide Hills to Cairns and back with 3 days in Cairns!!!

Ok, removing Concours cap now and replacing with the CBR1000F one

Cheers, SB

At the time of it's inception was the answer to the BMW R100/K100 RT's at a fraction of the price.

Stellar example of an older model, Seb and I'm talking about the bike.

Joy looks quite lovely if you don't mind me saying.

Wish you both the best on your trip to Vietnam
