Hawk, I used to live near a place called Konocti Harbor resort and spa. They have concerts there in the summer. I saw Steppenwolf there 5 years ago. You know the remake of the old band. Also, Credence Clearwater "revisited" (CCR) as the remake is now named. Brang back my thoughts of yesterday and beyond. I have the Video of Easyrider and do play it often. Don't like the acid trip part, but the rest is good. Too bad old Billy didn't use a strapped on 44 mag instead of his middle finger at the guys in the truck. As I always say, "Why bring a middle finger to a gun fight?!"
I guess one could change the song that the Holy Modal Rounders did, "If you want to flip the bird, well, ride a little faster. Get on a Cane and fly away...."

 

The ending made the movie memorable. As a motorcyclist, you hate the establishment's way of looking at bikers. Their deaths stun you and you get angry. Good movies produce "feelings" and Easy Rider did that. Otherwise, it would have been just another Grade B biker flick....
The famous line in the movie was, "We blew it." They gave up their dream for money and money is what represented the establishment for them.
Because of them giving up their dream, becoming part of the establishment and dying in the end, the movie "rides on forever." Well, that and some of Dave Mann's famous painting!!!! Ghost Riders...
P.S. Looks like a night of JD and Captain America along with his side kick Billy.... The sound track also made that movie what it is today - kind of a cult flick....
P.S.S. Forgot to add one thing. Today's weather in the desert - This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 82. South wind around 5 mph. I'm gone riding!

My cousin's wife is a bartender. She is going to start a "Red Headed **** Drink Night" at the bar where she works. I told her that if the bar does well on those nights, SwisherRed gets a cut!!! Since the bar is a biker bar, it should go over pretty good....
