Default R1 Brakes

I read somewhere, Ebay I think, of a CBR1000F with R1 brake calipers.

Anyone heard of this before and is it a feasible modification?

The only way I can see this working is by removing the linked braking system. AFAIK, all the R1's used a 4-pot, single hose caliper (versus our 3 pot, 2 hose system). Then there's the whole mounting setup

If it's a linked brake model that would be a huge pita to accomplish. The hardest part would be mounting the left side caliper, as the left fork leg doesn't have a typical 2-bolts-close-proximity setup.

IMO it would be far easier with greater benefits to just swap the entire front end with that of a different, more modern bike. I've been casually keeping an eye out for a gen 1 FZ1 front end to put on mine. Another candidate might be an SV1000 front end (both bikes have long-enough forks). I'm sure there are a zillion options...I like the FZ1 option because it would be cool to experiment with various tubular bars.
