Default A question for the Brains Trust

Ever since I have owned the '87, I have been aware that it has an internal leak issue in the fuel petcock (no matter what position it is in, it is actually draining through reserve. Not really a biggie once you know, just let the tripmeter be your guide to gas stops)

Anyway today the internal leak suddenly decided it would become out-ternal as well. Seb has sent me this link for a rebuild kit, but I have to wonder if it would be truly as universal for all years as they claim?

https://www.slipstreamperformance.co...ducts_id=33535

My understanding is that the '87/'88 set up is quite different to later models in that it doesn't have a vacuum line.

That leads me to suspect that the internal rubber diaphragm thingy will be different in later models, because it won't have an "off" position.

Does anyone know for sure?

Never a suggestion Seb, we are dealing with a 26 year old bike here, like all the girls, as they get older they do tend to start leaking a bit.

Tena Lady for CBR's; most excellent marketing plan has just occurred to me; but I digress.

Pffft, bring more NZD, that will only get you a loaf of bread and some salt.

My guess is that the rubber seal between the petcock body and diverted is worn. I can't find them separately, so you may need to replace the entire petcock.

The part would look something like the one in the picture below. The raised rubber contact area may be shot on yours.

No Woof, I can say with some authority that TK's bike has the fuel pump removed.
