Default Oppinions Please

I'm going to re-paint the front fork lowers , but can't decide wether to stick with the original black or go with a gold colour .

I love the look of the gold front callipers on the VFR's , which is what got me thinking

Hawk, the forks take quite a bit of stick from small stones and the like, so I'd go with the black - gold will show every mark and won't look good for long. I touch mine up now and again (have been known to use a magic marker) eek !
FWIW mate...........

I think if there were more gold on the bike, I'd say go for it. But as it is, it might just stick out in a bad way.
Plus, like shadow said, it will get chipped up pretty bad down there. I'd probably just stick with the black, too.

I know, we're not very exciting.

(BTW, I've used a black sharpie marker on my rims more than once for scratches and little chips.....lol)

The black/red combo with silver trim and white wheels is perfect. Adding a new element could end up a little busy. Try photoshopping it for us to see how it would look, then take a vote.

I'm pretty boring too. When I just had my fork seals redone, I also was surprised to see the amount of road debris pitting they took. If you know how to use a rattle can well black is much easier to touch up (or a sharpie).

Thought though...... you know how the chrome dip/plate things... pipes, engine parts, ect. Wonder if they can do that with gold "chrome"? And if it would be cost effective?

I think I'll stick with the black , for all the above reasons , I think I was hoping you guys would talk me out of it

I was thinking of trying it with paint and then getting them powder coated at a later date.

They sortta look like they were hit with a 10 gauge shot gun blast of flying gravel
That's just how he explained it to the wife. Like we believe the old "flying gravel" story, steve....
It was actually a real shotgun blast.
Neighbor caught him sneaking out the bedroom window....
